Registration for the Fall 2015 Season Will Open in Late March

Who is Eligible?

Gorham residents with a birth date between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2006 (or a birth date of August 1, 2006 or later but the child is entering the third grade in the fall of 2014).  Age groups for the 2014 Fall season:

* Children born August 1, 2006 or later who are entering the third
grade in the Fall of 2014 are also eligible to play for U9 teams

How much are Registration Fees?

Registration fees are based on the number of children in the family that are playing for a GYSA travel team.  The fee structure for Fall 2014:

First Child - $185.00

Second Child - $125.00

Each Additional Child - $100.00

All GYSA players must purchase a uniform kit comprised of two jerseys, shorts and game socks.  The club pays for the uniform kit for all U9 and other first year players.  Returning players are not required to purchase a new kit - they only need to replace uniform articles that no longer fit or are in bad condition.  Uniform kits are ordered on GYSA's Uniform Night, which is in mid-June.  The cost of a replacement kit is $40.  Items may also be purchased individually at a cost of $16 for each shirt, $6 for a pair of shorts, and $3 for a pair of socks.

How do I register and how do I pay?

For the Fall 2014 season, all players in all age groups (U9 - U14) will use the GotSoccer on-line registration process.

Within the Registration application, you may either pay by credit card (at no extra charge) or by check.  If paying by check, once you've registered your child, print the registration form from the GotSoccer system, and mail it along with a check payable to "GYSA" to:

Payment must be made prior to your son or daughter participating in tryouts / assessments.


Once a player is selected to a team, the player will have one week after accepting a position to reject the position and receive a full refund.  Players will have until August 1st to resign and receive a 50% refund.  After that date no refund will be distributed.

There shall be no refunds for uniform, jacket, backpack or other clothing purchases.


The GYSA board approves a limited number of player scholarships each year.  Both full and partial scholarships are available.  Additional details on the scholarship application process are included in the application.  In order to apply for a scholarship, the GYSA scholarship form should be completed at the time of player registration and mailed to:

2014 Dates for Tryouts and Assessments

Tryouts for U12 – U14 will be held at Gorham Sports Center on May 5 and 6 with the following schedule for both nights:

May 5th & May 6th
5:30 - 6:30 U12 Boys and Girls
6:30 - 7:30 U13 Boys and Girls
7:30 - 8:30 U14 Boys and Girls

Player assessments for U9 – U11 will be held at Gorham Sports Center on June 3, 4 and 5 with the following schedule:

June 3rd
5:15 - 7:00 U9 Boys and Girls
6:45 - 8:30 U11 Boys and Girls

June 4th
5:15 - 7:00 U10 Boys and Girls
6:45 - 8:30 U11 Boys and Girls

June 5th
5:15 - 7:00 U9 Boys and Girls
6:45 - 8:30 U10 Boys and Girls

There are two tryout / assessment dates for each age group.  We strongly encourage all players to attend both nights for their age group. 

What is the Deadline for Registration?

U12 - U14 Registration Deadline:  May 4th
U9 - U11 Registration Deadline:  June 1st
